About Parish Councils

This section of the site aims to give the visitor a brief history of the Parish Council system in England and Wales; and then progresses on to more specific historical information about North Horsham Parish Council itself.

Today, North Horsham is the largest Parish Council in the Horsham District and covers over 1,095 hectares. The population in 2005 was approximately 22,000 and accounts for over 17% of the population of the entire District area and about 45% of Horsham Town.
