North Horsham Parish Plan

The North Horsham Parish Plan was completed in April 2007 and whilst a review was scheduled in 2011 this was not completed.  In January 2016, North Horsham Parish Council agreed to proceed with a Neighbourhood Plan.

Neighbourhood planning was introduced under the Localism Act 2011. It gives a right for communities to shape development in their areas through the production of Neighbourhood Development Plans, Neighbourhood Development Orders and Community Right to Build Orders. Neighbourhood Development Plans become part of the Local Plan and the policies contained within them are then used in the determination of planning applications.

Policies contained in a Neighbourhood Plan cannot block development that is already part of the Local Plan but they can shape where that development will go and what it will look like.  Ref.Royal Town Planning Institute (Accessed 16th June 2016)
