Gas works on Wimblehurst Road.

Scotia Gas Networks is carrying out an upgrade to the gas network in Wimblehurst Road, Horsham which involves the essential replacement of old metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure a safe and reliable gas supply to the local area is provided.

In close consultation with West Sussex County Council, the work will be carried out in two phases with traffic management in place to ensure the safety of everyone around the site.

• Phase one: On 6 January 2020 until 3 February 2020 (4 weeks) there will be temporary three-way traffic lights to manage the traffic flow approaching the roundabout that connects Wimblehurst Road, Parsonage Road and North Heath Lane. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.

• Phase two: On 17 February 2020 until 2 March 2020 (2 weeks) Wimblehurst Road from Parsonage Road to North Parade will be closed. There will only be access for residents permitted during this time. The two bus stops in Wimblehurst Road will therefore be suspended throughout the duration of this phase. A diversion will be in place via Hurst Road, North Street and King’s Road.
