Extraordinary Parish Council Meeting

Chairman of North Horsham Parish Council, Cllr Alan Britten, has called for an Extraordinary Parish Council to be held on Thursday 3rd January 2019 at 7pm to allow the Parish Council to put forward their response to the Gatwick Master Plan.

The Extraordinary Parish Council Meeting takes place at Roffey Millennium Hall, Crawley Road, Horsham and starts at 7pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend all Parish Council Meetings which are held in public and to put questions or draw relevant matters to the Council’s attention relating to the business on the agenda in the Public Forum at the start of the meeting.

The topic was considered at a recent meeting of the Planning, Environment and Transport Committee and it was observed that in the past the Parish Council had been supportive of development at Gatwick Airport to increase employment opportunities locally. However, there is a concern regarding the lack of accompanying infrastructure to support growth, especially the lack of improvement to public transport links. The Committee also observed that the impact of flight paths should be considered. The Planning Committee’s comments will be the basis of the discussion on 3rd January. The Parish Council aim to submit their response to the Gatwick Master Plan following the meeting. The deadline for response is 10th January 2019.

The agenda and Clerk’s Report for this meeting can be found on this website under ‘Your Council’/’Meeting Papers’/’Full Council’.
